FAQ

How many treatments do I need to remove my tattoo?

Because every tattoo and every person is unique, there is no way to know the number of treatments a patient will need without assessing it in person. However, multiple treatment sessions are necessary to target and shatter the varying layers of ink trapped in the skin. Most patients require 6 to 12 treatments for complete removal. Patients with already faded tattoos usually require 4 to 6 treatments. During your free consultation, our technician will use a variety of factors to best estimate the number of treatments your tattoo will need. These factors include:

  • -Age of tattoo
  • -Location of tattoo on your body
  • -Size of tattoo
  • -Ink Colors
  • -Depth of ink
  • -Density of ink
  • -Pre-existing scarring
  • -Quality of tattoo (professional vs. amateur)
  • -Patient health

How long does it take to see results?

Patients will see significant fading after the first couple of treatments. The length it takes to achieve complete removal varies depending on the factors listed above. A patient with a healthy immune system and faded tattoo will experience faster fading and complete removal more quickly than a patient with a weak immune system and heavily pigmented tattoo. Furthermore, all patients must wait 6 to 8 weeks between treatment sessions. This time is used to give your skin enough time to heal before undergoing laser treatment. Taking all of these considerations into account, one patient may see complete results in a few months while others may see complete removal after a year or even two years. No matter your removal timeline, the results are well worth the wait!

Does the laser hurt?

Laser tattoo removal is a very tolerable procedure. Depending on your pain tolerance, you may think the laser feels similar to having a tattoo applied whereas majority of patients compare the laser to a rubber band being snapped against the skin. Luckily, laser tattoo removal is a very quick procedure that lasts anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo.

Evicted Ink has invested in the Zimmer Cryo cooling device to help relieve all pain and discomfort before, during, and after your treatment. No other skin numbing method can deliver comfort like our Zimmer Cryo.

How much does laser tattoo removal cost?

Evicted Ink offers free consultations and provides affordable treatment pricing based on the size of your tattoo. Treatment packages and promotional discounts are also available on our pricing page.

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects to the laser are temporary redness, swelling, itchiness, scabbing, blistering, and skin pigmentation changes. All of these side effects heal over the weeks following a treatment. As long as proper aftercare is applied, patients should expect to see beautiful, flawless results. Laser tattoo removal is the safest process for removing unwanted ink from the skin. Our laser uses a homogenized flat-top profile beam to minimize treatment overlap and reduce risks of serious unwanted side effects.

Can you fade my tattoo for a cover-up?

Yes! This is our #1 request. We love great tattoos and enjoy helping our clients fade ink so they  can upgrade their art. Whether you want to completely remove your tattoo, remove a specific portion of your tattoo while leaving the surrounding ink intact, or wish to lighten your tattoo in preparation for a cover-up tattoo, we can deliver! Laser tattoo removal is often used to make room for more ink. Lightening a tattoo makes it easier for a tattoo artist to conceal existing artwork, especially if the original tattoo contains a lot of dark ink. Fading a tattoo with laser tattoo removal typically requires 3 to 6 treatments.
